UFC star Paddy Pimblett 'silenced' talkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy after calling in to chat all things .
On Tuesday evening, produced , with a hat-trick from Luis Diaz and a goal from Cody Gakpo seeing Liverpool maintain their perfect record in Europe this term. Arne Slot's side has won four games from four, with their next contest pitting them up against Real Madrid on Nov. 27 at Anfield.
After the game, talkSPORT duo Cundy and Jamie O'Hara were taking calls from Liverpool supporters after their win, with the pair chatting to Reds fan Tony. However, what the pair did not know until Tony mentioned it was that he was with UFC star Pimblett.
Former Chelsea defender : "They’re [Liverpool] starting to annoy me now, they just get results. You know they’re good, but then you come away thinking 4-0? They just spanked Leverkusen 4-0? I think there’s probably more to come from this Liverpool side, that’s what’s worrying me."
That then prompted Liverpool supporter Tony to hand over the phone to Pimblett, who told Cundy about how he believes Slot will be his generation's Bob Paisley to Jurgen Klopp's Bill Shankly.
"I did expect this," said Pimblett of Liverpool's impressive start to life under Slot. He continued: "Before Slot came, I said Jurgen [Klopp] was our generation’s [Bill] Shankly and Arne Slot was going to be our generation’s [Bob] Paisley. He’s going to win more than Jurgen did and I can’t wait to be proved right."
And after having noticed Pimblett had led to Cundy quietening down, that then led O'Hara to tease his co-host. The former Spurs midfielder said: "You’ve [Cundy] gone a bit quiet now haven’t you!"
That prompted the talkSPORT host to reply: "We go back a long way, me and Paddy…" which led to Pimblett adding: "There’s been a few times where I was going to drive all the way down…"
Liverpool.com says: "Look, Liverpool supporters certainly won't be complaining if Pimblett's prediction turns out to be true. Under Paisley, Liverpool won six first division titles, as well as three European Cups. And with Slot having won 14 of his first 16 games as Reds boss after replacing Klopp earlier this year, Liverpool could be set to do something special this term under the Dutchman."
