If you receive a pension, here's some important information for you. The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) of the Government of India is conducting the fourth nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign from November 1st to November 30th, 2025. This campaign will reach out to pensioners in 2,000 districts and subdivision headquarters across India. The goal is to ensure that all pensioners continue to receive their pensions regularly and without interruption.
During the DLC Submission Date
Pensioners have been advised to submit their Digital Life Certificate between November 1st and 30th. Importantly, senior citizens above 80 years of age can submit their certificates starting October 1st. Failure to submit the Digital Life Certificate may result in a disruption in pension receipt, so completing it on time is crucial.
What is a Digital Life Certificate?
The Digital Life Certificate (DLC) is a biometric and Aadhaar-based certificate that every pensioner must submit annually. This certificate proves that the pensioner is still alive and can continue receiving the pension. Submission requires Aadhaar number, name, mobile number, and pension-related information such as PPO number, bank account details, etc.
How to submit the Digital Life Certificate?
To make this campaign a success, the government has collaborated with 19 pension disbursing banks, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), Pensioners Welfare Association (PWA), Railways, Department of Telecommunications, UIDAI, and the Ministry of Electronics. Special camps will be set up at bank branches and post offices in major cities across the country for the convenience of pensioners. Additionally, services will be provided at home or in hospitals for elderly, sick, and disabled pensioners who are homebound.
Pensioners can submit the Digital Life Certificate in several ways. You can submit it online with Aadhaar authentication by visiting the Life Certificate portal. Alternatively, you can submit it through the postman, doorstep banking service, or by obtaining signatures from designated officials.
Aadhaar Number Mandatory
An Aadhaar number or Virtual ID (VID) is mandatory to generate a Digital Life Certificate. Without it, generating a DLC is not possible. Therefore, if your Aadhaar card has not yet been generated or linked, complete it as soon as possible.
Why is a Digital Life Certificate Necessary?
The biggest advantage of a Digital Life Certificate is that it eliminates the need for pensioners to repeatedly visit government offices to complete the paperwork. The entire process is online and digital, saving both time and effort. Furthermore, it can also prevent fraud and incorrect pension disbursements.
