Roman Reigns is one of the biggest draws in the WWE today. The former ‘Big Dog’ is loved by many because of his solid in-ring work and ability to evoke strong reactions from the audience. He is now in the limelight for an unexpected reason. In a recent interview, Reigns opened up about his retirement plans and hinted that his time as an in-ring performer is coming to an end.
Roman Reigns reveals his retirement plansRoman Reigns, who is a bonafide A-lister, has been dominating the WWE landscape since he first burst on to the scene in 2012. He has done it all, right from winning titles to headlining WrestleMania, and proved his game is second to none. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, he said that he plans to call it quits around 2028.
“After I finish the contract that I’m in, we probably got another year or two max. Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment,” he was quoted as saying.
Reigns’ current contract with the WWE expires next year after WrestleMania 42. Being one of the faces of the promotion, he can be expected to sign another deal with the company post ‘The Show of Shows’.
What’s next for Roman Reigns?Roman Reigns, meanwhile, is gearing up for WrestleMania 41. He will be locking horns with CM Punk and Seth Rollins at the event. His Wiseman Paul Heyman, however, will be in the Second City Saint’s corner. This is the result of a favour he owed Punk for helping Reigns at Wargames.
WrestleMania 41 is slated to take place in Las Vegas on April 19 and April 20. It will be available to stream on Peacock in the US. Those outside the ‘The States’, can watch it on Netflix.
