Patna (Bihar) [India], October 22 (ANI): As Bihar gears up for the 2025 Assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed strong confidence in the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) election strategy. Drawing a striking analogy from the Mahabharata, Choudhary said, "History tells us that there are indeed five Pandavas, but 'Kauravas are bound' to lose no matter how large they are in quantity."
The polling for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly is scheduled to take place on November 6 and November 11, and votes will be counted on November 14.
Speaking to ANI, Choudhary said, "History tells us that there are indeed five Pandavas, but Kauravas are bound to lose no matter how large they are in quantity. The strategy is very clear. Development and delivery are the topics of discussion in Bihar... The public trusts Nitish and PM Modi because they have transformed Bihar... When you land at Patna airport, it feels like you've arrived at an international airport."
Addressing his personal role within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Choudhary remained modest and pragmatic."I haven't thought about it yet... because I have a political responsibility within the party... I fulfill whatever role the party assigns me. Keep in mind that anyone can become a prominent figure in this party at any time... but I am satisfied with my work and my position and stand by my party's decisions," he added.
When asked about the possibility of a BJP leader becoming Bihar's Chief Minister, Choudhary, who is also a BJP candidate from Tarapur, responded thoughtfully. He said, "Nitish Kumar is also the face of our party. The BJP also trusted Lalu in the 1990s... but he failed to live up to that trust... We are with Nitish Kumar for the development of Bihar, but their ideologies are different..."
Meanwhile, in the seat-sharing arrangement within the NDA, the BJP and JD(U) are contesting on 101 seats each, while the Lok Janshakti Party (headed by Ram Vilas) is contesting on 29 seats, and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) are contesting on six seats each.
The main contest in Bihar will be between the NDA and the Mahagathbandha alliance spearheaded by Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The INDIA alliance is aiming to unseat Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who currently leads the NDA in the state. (ANI)
