Delay and Court Proceedings
The results were originally slated to be declared on August 7, but the release was postponed due to contempt proceedings in the Calcutta High Court. The issue arose after Justice Kausik Chanda received complaints — including from merit-listed candidates and the WBJEE Board itself — regarding the JEMAS-PG (medical postgraduate) examination. Acting on these, the court took suo motu cognisance of the matter.
The court later directed the Board to prepare and release a revised merit list. Following this, WBJEEB asked candidates from reserved categories (SC, ST, and OBC) to upload their caste certificates on the official portal before finalising the results.
The WBJEE is a state-level entrance test for admission into undergraduate programmes in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture across universities, government institutions, and self-financed colleges in West Bengal for the 2025–26 academic year.
