Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya bowled 11 balls in an over, the joint highest in IPL during their high-octane match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.
During GT's chase of 156 runs, Pandya introduced himself into the attack in the eighth and bowled two no balls and three wide balls in the over, conceding 18 runs.
He is now the fifth player to bowl 11 balls in a single over after Mohammed Siraj, Tushar Deshpande, Shardul Thakur and Sandeep Sharma.
He bowled three good deliveries before bowling a wide, followed by a no ball and repeating it for the next two balls before Gill hit the free hit for a six over long off. He bowled another wide before finishing the over with a dot ball.
Pandya did not just have a bad day with the ball. The experienced all-rounder tried to take on Sai Kishore with a sloig sweep but top-edged it to opposite captain Shubman Gill at slip. Pandya had to return to the dressing room with one run off three balls.
MI scored to 155/8 in 20 overs.
