Khusnuma Nagwaswalla, senior associate at Mumbai-based firm Quillon Partners joins a boutique transaction advisory firm Agram Legal Consultants as a partner.
An alumnus of Government Law College (GLC) and also a solicitor from the Bombay Incorporated Law Society (BILS), Nagwaswalla started her career with the law firm Udwadia & Udeshi, where she was advising on Corporate, M&A, Joint Ventures, Property (conveyance) and Indian Succession. In 2010, she joined law firm Platinum Partners.
In 2017, while on a sabbatical, she was also requalified as a Barrister and Solicitor from Ontario, Canada. She has also worked with Deloitte's legal projects solutions team in Toronto, Canada as a consultant.
Later in March 2018, she joined full-service firm IndusLaw as principal associate in its Mumbai office before moving to Quillon Partners in November 2020.
When contacted, Khusnuma Nagwaswalla confirmed the development and said that she is looking forward to contributing to Agram Legal’s M&A and Private Equity practice.
“The firm’s client-centric approach, combined with its founder Vaishali’s approach to holistic solutions aligns perfectly with my vision of delivering bespoke legal solutions in an evolving market,” said Nagwaswalla. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive impactful outcomes for our clients and further strengthen the firm’s position in the industry,” she further added.
Founded by Vaishali Sharma in 2014, Agram Legal Consultants is a Mumbai-based boutique transaction firm that practices in M&A, joint ventures, private equity (PE) advisory, restructuring and competition laws among other things. The firm also has a presence in Delhi managed by partner Karuna.
“Khusnuma is a detail-oriented person who works on accommodating the smallest detail to create a holistic picture of the case,” said a partner of a Mumbai-based investment banking firm, who has worked with her in the past. “She can look at things on macro and micro levels at the same time and come up with commercially viable legal solutions.”
As the market is heating up with the deal and transaction activities, several firms are hiring lawyers at the partner level to cope with the demand.
Recently, at the beginning of the month, Harshit Anand joined JSA as a partner at the firm’s Gurugram office in corporate and M&A practice from AP & Partners. Around the same time, IndusLaw partner Ravi Kumar joined Mumbai-based firm Ramanathan & Vahanvati as a partner in its M&A and transaction advisory practice.
