India’s much-awaited bullet train is soon going to become a reality. The much-anticipated high-speed rail project will pass through Rajasthan’s seven districts under Delhi-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor. The train, when it starts, will cut travel time between Delhi and Ahmedabad from 14 hours to around 3 to 4 hours.
In a recent update, the super-fast high-speed train will cover a distance of 657-kilometre stretch through the state. The train will pass through seven districts in Rajasthan and halt at nine selected stations en route.
As per PTI report, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Railway Minister of India, had earlier confirmed that a comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Delhi-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor had been already prepared. The other routes for which survey and DPR were undertaken include Delhi-Varanasi, Mumbai-Nagpur, Mumbai-Hyderabad, Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysore, Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar, and Varanasi-Howrah.
Let’s know more:
This railway line is part of a 875-kilometre corridor that will connect Delhi with Ahmedabad in Gujarat. When it starts, the train will pass through Alwar, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, and Dungarpur. The upcoming bullet train is said to reduce travel time significantly and boost tourism in the country.
As per officials, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the Rajasthan bullet train will have nine stations. It will include cities like Jaipur and Ajmer along with places such as Behror, Shahjahanpur, Vijaynagar, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, and Kherwada (near Dungarpur).
What travellers can expect
Travellers waiting for the train can expect some ultra tech infrastructure along this route. The train is expected to touch a high speed up to 350 km/hour. The train will pass through several tunnels, hilly terrains, and bridges too. It will cross five major rivers in the country. In addition, the Delhi-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Line will go through 335 villages in seven districts of Rajasthan, which will offer travellers an insight into the rich heritage of the state.
Beyond speed, the high-speed train promises to change the travel experience in Rajasthan. It will offer connections to heritage-rich destinations like Jaipur and Udaipur. With the introduction of the train, it is believed to boost regional economies as well.
Rajasthan’s inclusion is an added attraction of the bullet train. It will enhance national connectivity along with redefining long-distance travel in India.
