Delhi to Jaipur in just 2.5 hours: 5 things travellers must know about the New Expressway Link

Send Push
In a significant travel upgrade, travellers would now be able to reach Jaipur from Delhi in just 2.5 hours! Yes, you read that right. All thanks to a new expressway that is set to open in June 2025. The new link promises faster, smoother journeys on the route. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is all set to inaugurate a new 67-kilometer controlled-access highway that will link Bandikui on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to the Jaipur Ring Road.

This new road will cut travel time between the two cities significantly to just 2.5 hours and reduce the overall distance by 20 kilometers, bypassing the usual bottlenecks near Dausa and other traffic-prone areas. The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve highway connectivity. It will also ease congestion on existing routes.

By the end of the year, travellers from Noida, Ghaziabad, and East Delhi will also see improvements, with the DND Flyway-KMP Expressway connector opening for smoother access. On this note, let's have a look at five important things travellers should know about this route.

Travel time reduced to 2.5 hours

A new 67-km stretch connecting Bandikui (on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway) to the Jaipur Ring Road will slash travel time from Delhi to Jaipur to just two and a half hours — cutting the distance by 20 km and bypassing slow, congested routes.

No more traffic jams near Dausa
As of now, drivers exiting at Dausa face delays on NH-21 due to narrow roads and local traffic. The new controlled-access highway will offer a seamless drive, free from these bottlenecks.

Big boost for East Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad travellers

By December, travellers from Ghaziabad, Noida, and east Delhi will also benefit from the opening of the DND Flyway-KMP interchange. This means they, too, can reach Jaipur in 2.5 hours without navigating through towns and villages.

The final touches are being made, with only a rail overbridge left to finish. Authorities say work should be done by May-end. Temporary detours may be allowed if needed to ensure timely access.

Safety and Road Quality
Before opening to the public, NHAI is prioritizing safety and quality. Officials have been directed to personally inspect the road and ensure it is pothole-free, even if that means a slight delay in opening.

Whether you're heading to Jaipur for business or a weekend getaway, June brings a much-needed upgrade to the travel experience.
