Kajari Teej Recipe: As soon as the name of Kajari Teej comes to mind, the picture of women fasting in full swing, the Puja thali, and the delicious Sattu dish comes to mind. This festival is celebrated with great pomp in many parts of North India, especially married women eagerly wait for this day. On this occasion, laddus, parathas, and sweets made of Sattu are prepared in every house. It is believed that offering Sattu on Kajari Teej brings blessings of Goddess Parvati and Lord Bholenath. Relation between Kajari Teej and Sattu
Kajri Teej is celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This time Kajari Teej is on 12th August 2025, on this day women keep fast and pray for the long life and happiness of their husband. In many places, it is also called Saturi Teej. According to tradition, Sattu has special significance on this day. Sattu is not only good for health, but its sweetness adds more color to devotion.
Ingredients for making Sattu Laddu
Sattu – 1 cup
Powdered sugar – ½ cup (can be increased or decreased according to taste)
Ghee – ¼ cup
Chopped pistachios – 2 tbsp
Chopped almonds – 2 tbsp
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
Coconut powder – 1 tbsp
Method of preparation
1. First of all, put ghee in a pan and heat it on a low flame.
2. Add sattu to hot ghee and fry it while stirring continuously till it becomes light brown. Keep in mind, sattu can burn quickly, so keep the flame and stirring speed right.
3. As soon as the sattu turns light golden, add cardamom powder and mix it.
4. Now add chopped pistachios and almonds and mix well.
5. Turn off the gas and let the mixture cool down a bit.

6. When it cools down, add powdered sugar and mix everything well.
7. Now, apply some ghee on your hands and make small laddus.
8. Wrap the coconut powder on the laddus so that both the taste and aroma increase.
Tips
1. If you want, you can also add raisins or cashews to it.
2. If you want to make a healthier version, use jaggery powder instead of sugar.
3. Do not cool the mixture too much before making laddus; otherwise the ghee may solidify and it will be difficult to make laddus.
