Indore: Nursing Officers Call Of Protest For Now

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Madhya Pradesh Nursing Officers Association has called off its planned protest and gherao of the Directorate of Health Services scheduled for Tuesday after one of its demands was fulfilled, but has warned that if the remaining demands are not met within 15 days, they will stage a fresh gherao on August 19, followed by an indefinite strike if necessary.

Association president Ramesh Jaat said that after the intervention of the State Federation of Health Officers and Employees, and discussions between federation president Surendra Singh Kourav and senior department officials, the department agreed to issue orders for restoring the annual increment withheld during the 2023 strike period and to forward the proposal for the nursing officers’ pay scale to the Pay Commission.

However, the association stated that several key demands remain unresolved, including the payment of six days’ salary withheld during the strike, granting 7th Pay Commission benefits to autonomous nurses from January 2016, providing night duty allowance to nursing officers similar to doctors, increasing allowances for all employees as per the 7th Pay Commission, extending the benefit of three and four additional increments to all medical college nursing officers as given in Gwalior and Rewa, appointing nursing cadre personnel to the post of Assistant Director (Nursing) at the Directorate level, and others.
