Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has intensified its efforts to ensure the provision of essential civic services in tribal hamlets across its jurisdiction.
Officials from multiple departments review progress on basic amenities
The meeting brought together committee chairpersons and members from areas spanning Belapur to Digha, along with executive engineers from departments including water supply, electricity, civil engineering, and sanitation, as well as officers and staff from the Social Development Department.
Officials discussed follow-up actions on the issues raised in previous meetings by tribal representatives. Each department presented a detailed review of progress made on matters such as access to drinking water, sanitation, street lighting, internal roads, and overall infrastructure in tribal settlements.

Deputy Commissioner Kishanrao Palande calls for personal visits to tribal areas
Deputy Commissioner of Social Development, Kishanrao Palande directed concerned departments to personally visit tribal hamlets, understand local challenges, and conduct surveys to assess infrastructure needs. Departments have been instructed to take swift and coordinated action to resolve outstanding issues and submit completion reports.
Focus on inclusive development and social responsibility
The civic body aims to provide basic amenities such as housing, proper roads, electricity, toilets, clean drinking water, and improved sanitation in line with the government’s vision of inclusive development.
