Jason Holder produced a superb all-round performance to help West Indies beat Pakistan by 2 wickets during the 2nd T20I match at Lauderhill on Sunday, August 3. With Windies needing 4 off the last ball, Shaheen Afridi bowled a wide ball. However, Jason Holder smashed the next ball for a boundary toward fine leg to seal the deal in a nail-biting match.

West Indies stun Pakistan in T20I after 8 years
Batting first, Pakistan never looked settled on a tricky surface. Both openers departed for single-digit scores, and the middle order followed suit, leaving them floundering at 53/4. A brief resistance came in the form of Salman Agha (38) and Hasan Nawaz (40), who stitched together a valuable 60-run stand. But just when stability seemed within reach, another collapse ensued, and Pakistan limped to 133/9 in their 20 overs.
Jason Holder led the West Indies bowling attack with a four-wicket haul, while Gudakesh Motie chipped in with two wickets.

The West Indies' chase, however, was anything but smooth. Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz struck twice inside the first four overs, removing both openers and igniting hopes of a dramatic defense. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, with Shai Hope (21 off 30) struggling to get going and the pressure mounting.
Motie stepped up again, this time with the bat, playing a vital hand with 28 off 19 balls to keep the West Indies in the hunt. With 24 needed from the final two overs, Hasan Ali conceded 16 runs in the penultimate over, tipping the scales heavily in the hosts’ favor.
Jason Holder, fittingly, capped off his all-round performance by hitting the winning shot and staying unbeaten on 16, ensuring his earlier bowling effort did not go to waste.
