Sailana (Madhya Pradesh): JAYS Bhil Ekta Mission submitted a memorandum to Sailana SDM Manish Jain requesting the immediate setting up of Aadhaar centres to address problems of students in their documentation before the 2025-26 academic year begins.
The petition was presented under the guidance of organisation's founder president and MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar.
The memorandum highlighted that Sailana and Bajna development blocks are predominantly tribal areas where residents are largely poor, illiterate and live in remote villages. With the new school year starting in July, students urgently need Aadhaar cards for school and hostel admissions.
Currently, thousands of rural residents and their children queue at post offices in Sailana and Ratlam for Aadhaar services, where only about 20 people per day receive assistance. Many wait from midnight only to return home disappointed and frustrated.
The tribal organisation warned that there is anger among students in Sailana, Bajna and Raoti areas regarding problems in getting Aadhaar cards, which could potentially escalate into protests.
Their specific demand calls for immediate setting up of Aadhaar service centres at government facilities including tehsil offices, public service centres, hospitals, agriculture markets, ITI campuses and MPEB offices throughout the tribal areas.
