Thane: A massive fire broke out in a ground-plus-three-storey building's warehouse in Rahnal village, Bhiwandi, on Saturday morning. No casualties or major injuries have been reported from the intense blaze.
The incident occurred in Rahnal village, within the Manisurat compound under the jurisdiction of Narpoli Police Station, at around 3:25 AM on Saturday. Fire officials said they received information about the fire and initially dispatched two fire engines to the scene. However, as the fire intensified, two additional fire tenders were rushed from Kalyan and Thane to assist in extinguishing it.
The warehouse stored plywood, furniture items, clothes, and footwear. Fire officials said that even after 17 hours, the fire was not fully under control as it was spreading to adjacent godowns.

Meanwhile, firefighter Harishchand Wagh suffered injuries his hand and leg during the firefighting operation. Wagh stated that he had climbed onto the top of the fire engine, held the water hose, and started extinguishing the fire. However, he lost control and fell. He was taken to a hospital where he is currently being treated.
According to fire officials, due to the massive and prolonged fire, two floors of the warehouse building collapsed. Thick black smoke continued to spread across the compound. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Rajesh Pawar, Chief of the Bhiwandi Fire Station, said, "The fire spread rapidly due to the plywood and clothes stored in the warehouse. The fire has not been brought under control even after a full day. Our team continues to make efforts to douse the blaze. One firefighter from our team was injured while attempting to extinguish the fire."
Fire officials added that, as the fire spread rapidly to adjacent godowns, other warehouse owners called porters and employees to evacuate the stock and shift it to a safer place.However, the products worth lakh rupees were caught in fire and turned to ashes during this intensified fire.
