Brits can buy Christmas turkeys on TikTok this year - delivered straight to the door

Buying your Christmas turkey can be one of the most exciting - or stressful parts of the festive preparation.

Despite it being September, there is already talk of Christmas, and some people are looking at alternative ways to shop for their dinner this year. It's no secret the demand for turkeys can put supermarkets under pressure, with extortionate prices and hours long queues, leading to many people missing out on the most important part of any Christmas dinner.

But now people can order their turkey's straight to their door thanks to TikTok. While it may not be the first place you'd think to do your seasonal food shop, online butcher and meat delivery service The Fat Butcher, is bringing festive cheer to TikTok Shop fans this Christmas by announcing it will be selling Christmas turkeys on the platform from 1 October.

The Fat Butcher has become one of the top sellers in the fresh foods category on TikTok Shop, and now for the first time ever people can pre-order the birds either fresh or frozen, or as part of Christmas boxes which include beef, pigs in blankets, stuffing and gammon.

The butcher has stated that the turkeys will arrive in iced, temperature-controlled packaging, with frozen delivery options being developed to allow customers to prepare ahead of time.

In celebration of launching their turkey delivery service, The Fat Butcher will be doing a 24-hour livestream promoting its festive boxes, hosted by the fat butcher himself - with TikTok Shop fans getting a 'turkey exclusive' before they launch onto The Fat Butcher app and in-store later in the year.

Darren Fenton, founder of The Fat Butcher, said: "Christmas brings a huge amount of joy to our customers, but we know how challenging it can be to get all your Christmas dinner shopping done in time - with huge queues at the butchers and meat selling out ahead of time.
