One of Ella Rae Wise's best friends has cast a pessimistic view of love blossoming between her and fellow contestant Chris Hughes. Fans of reality TV will already recognise 24-year-old Ella as a member of the cast of iconic show - which she has starred on since 2019.
While shot to fame in 2017 as a contestant on ITV's reality romance show Fans of both Ella and Chris will be aware that their dramatic love lives have fuelled their time in the spotlight as all of the highs and lows of their romances have featured on camera and spilled across social media.
Before the celebrity contestants entered the house last week, it was revealed that Ella had ended her relationship with co-star Dan Edgar, 34, after 18 months of dating. It is also believed that Chris is currently single - with many fans speculating the pair will form a showmance while in the CBB house.

However, Ella's Towie best friend Freddie Bentley, 27, has laughed off the suggestion that the pair will become a couple - whether there are cameras in front of them or not. Opening up to the Daily Mail, Freddie said: "I think she will get along with him because he is a laugh and a giggle. But in terms of romance, I think the most it would ever go to is close friends."
Earlier in the week, CBB fans watched Ella break down in tears as she opened up about her split from Dan. Confiding in co-stars JoJo Siwa, 21, and Angellica Bell, 49, the reality star emotionally admitted the relationship had not worked as she had been trying to change Dan.
Freddie has predicted viewers could see Ella in tears again before the end of the current season - if Big Brother turns off the hot water to punish the housemates. He said: "She will struggle though with cold water. I remember staying at her house once two years ago and the boiler went. It wasn't working properly and she had to wait for it to heat up.
"But she was in a rush and needed to get into the shower and it was cold water and she stood there and cried for about half an hour so that isn't going to do down well."
Big Brother tends to turn off home comforts like hot water if contestants break rules. So far, Hollywood star Mickey Rourke, 72, has tested Big Brother's patience by breaking rules - both in terms of discussing nominations and using language that is deemed inappropriate.
Viewers have been distressed to see him seemingly target fellow American JoJo and making inappropriate comments about her sexuality. He later caused comedian Donna Preston, 38, to become flustered when he claimed "you are what you eat" - leading her to suspect he was making an under-the-radar comment about her weight.
And later, he caused icon Patsy Palmer to break down in tears after he criticised her cooking skills. Seeking refuge in the Diary Room, Patsy, 52, said: “I tried to talk that one out but it didn’t really work.
“I feel like I let myself down there and I don’t want my reactions to be like that. I always want my kids to always stand up for themselves. Maybe it was just a joke – maybe I need to look at it like that. I need to try to rise above it. It doesn’t mean I have to like him.”
Celebrity Big Brother continues via and ITVX at 9pm.
