Three people suffered gunshot wounds after a shooting on London's streets in broad daylight this afternoon, as members of the public were urged to stay away from the scene.
Police and paramedics in an air ambulance, as well as a road vehicle, were called to reports of a shooting on Upton Lane in . Three people in the incident, with one rushed to a major trauma centre "as a priority". Witnesses have reported a large police presence at the scene and members of the public have been urged to avoid the area as the situation in east London continues.

A large cordon has been put in place as police investigate the incident.
spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 2.51pm today (29 April) to reports of a shooting on Upton Lane, E7. We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic from our tactical response unit and an incident response officer.
"We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated three patients at the scene.
"We took one person to a major trauma centre by road as a priority and the other two patients to hospital.”
The conditions of the three people involved in the shooting are currently unknown. The has contacted for comment on the incident.

“People in the Metropolitan Police Force area have spent more than £240,000 on shotgun grants and renewals and £65,000 on firearm grants and renewals. Essex completes our top three, with an expenditure on shotgun and firearm applications and renewals of almost £290,000.”
