A body of a man has been found near a popular children's playground, sparking an urgent investigation. Police were called to an area of Hempsted, Gloucester at around 5pm on Wednesday after the body was discovered by locals.
A cordon was set up in Soren Larsen Way and the man was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. The man's death is not being treated as suspicious but investigations into the circumstances surrounding it aare ongoing. reports the canal path behind the park has also been cordoned off, according to witnesses.
An officer from the Gloucestershire Police Force Control Room confirmed a cordon is in place. They added that there "is no risk to the public" and members of the local community "do not need to avoid the area".

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 5pm, Wednesday, April 2, following the discovery of a body in Hemspted, Gloucester. A man was pronounced dead by paramedics. At this time the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner."
