Jeremy Clarkson accuses pub customers of food intolerance 'fraud' as he blasts 'epidemic'

Jeremy Clarkson,the star of Clarkson's Farm,has been hit with another major blow at his pub after a customer tried to claim a hefty payout over an alleged food intolerance.The former Top Gear host revealedthat he was forced to provide proof in response to a disgruntled customer's attempt to claim thousands in damages.

In his Times column, Clarkson highlighted the growing issue of food intolerance fraud for pub owners, writing: "We had one the other day who said she'd been given beer instead of cider and the gluten in it had made her so ill she'd had to cancel her holiday and we now had to reimburse her.

"Happily, we have her on CCTV not drinking beer, so we are safe on that one. But often landlords aren't so lucky. Many tell me this food intolerance fraud is now an epidemic."

Clarkson then took aim at "faddy eaters", claiming they are damaging businesses across the UK, and even joked about banning those with intolerances, reports Birmingham Live.

He added: "I know it would be commercial suicide, but they are just so annoying." The Farmer's Dog team have also faced numerous unpleasant issues from customers, from shocking finds in the toilets to drunken brawls.

He continued: "I do know that one day, after all the staff have left for the night, Rupert's going to check the loos in his pub and find that someone has pebbledashed the walls with a gallon of diarrhoea."

Clarkson's latest pub woes come after he disclosed that cyber thieves successfully snatched £27,000 from the establishment's computer system.

Writing in The Sun, he stated: "So, Jaguar Land Rover had to shut down its production lines this week after systems were breached by computer hackers. And we are told similar attacks were launched in recent months on both MandS and the Co-op.

"But no one thought to mention that my pub, The Farmer's Dog, has been hit too. It was though. Someone broke into our accounting system and helped themselves to £27,000."

Despite the setback, Jeremy managed to find humour in the situation, adding: "When times are tough, I always think that a good laugh helps, which is why I sat down this week to watch the endlessly amusing Green Party announce its new leader. They didn't let me down."

The TV presenter offered no further information regarding the security breach, leaving it uncertain how the digital criminals infiltrated the system or whether he succeeded in retrieving the pilfered money.
