Ceasefire will continue till 18 May... Pakistan's new statement on ceasefire

Amid the growing tension between India and Pakistan, Pakistan has issued a new statement saying that the two countries have agreed on a ceasefire till May 18. This temporary ceasefire has been implemented to stop the ongoing firing on the Line of Control. However, there has been no official confirmation from India on this.

Amid the long-standing tension between India and Pakistan, a big news has come out. Pakistan, which is scared of India's action, has said that it has agreed to ceasefire with India till Sunday, i.e. 18 May. Before Trump's ceasefire announcement, this ceasefire decision is being seen as a temporary relief amid the continuous firing and drone attacks on the Line of Control (LoC) for the past few weeks. However, India has not yet formally confirmed this agreement.

The importance of this ceasefire agreement also increases because after the recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India adopted a tough stand and carried out Operation Sindoor against Pakistan. In this operation, India crossed the Line of Control and destroyed many terrorist hideouts and gave a clear message to Pakistan that India can go to any extent regarding terrorism. Pakistan is scared seeing the conditions of war

US not involved in mediation

After Trump announces not enforcing ceasefire, it has become clear that this ceasefire agreement is not the result of any third party mediation but the result of DGMO level talks between India and Pakistan. India has already made it clear that the role of any third country will not be accepted in bilateral issues. Now it will be interesting to see whether this ceasefire continues even after Sunday or the situation on the border becomes explosive once again.

For now, this ceasefire is a little relief for the civilians and soldiers living in the border areas. This peace may last for a few hours or days, but doubts remain about its durability.
