The ISKCON temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, received a bomb threat on Sunday, sparking security measures and extensive police inspections. According to temple authorities, a threatening email claimed Pakistan-based terrorists intended to target the temple, prompting them to file an FIR with local police.
In response, Andhra Pradesh police quickly deployed bomb and dog squads to thoroughly inspect the temple and surrounding areas. No explosives or suspicious items were found, leading authorities to suspect the threat may be a hoax. This incident marks the fourth email-based threat received in Tirupati over the last three days, following a series of similar hoax threats.
Officials stated that police teams carried out comprehensive searches and have registered cases for each of these hoax emails. Investigations are underway, with the cyber crimes wing aiding in tracing the origins of the threats.
On Saturday, October 26, two hotels in Tirupati also received similar bomb threats, which were later confirmed to be false. Three additional hotels reported threats earlier, raising security concerns for both residents and visiting devotees.
