WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Dexter: Resurrection
Dexter: Resurrection continued on Showtime and Paramount this week its third episode titled, Backseat Driver, and featured some familiar faces as Dexter Morgan (played by Michael C. Hall) set his sights on taking down the Dark Passenger after breaking into their apartment.
Dexter got all the information he needed to take down the Dark Passenger - real name Ronald 'Red' Schmidt and went on to hunt him.
He also decided to turn Red's apartment into his kill room as he returned to his old ways.
Meanwhile, his son Harrison Morgan (Jack Alcott) was drawn further into the police investigation surrounding Ryan Foster's (Bryan Lillis) death.
Another twist in the tale saw Angel Batista (David Zayas) heading back to Miami, only to get a call confirming that the truck Dexter stole had been located in New York City.
From the looks of it, Angel is going to be continuing his own investigation into Dexter, leading many fans to worry about where this storyline would end, given his impending retirement.
Taking to Reddit, many Dexter fans predicted tragedy was on the cards for the well-loved Angel, who was Dexter's best friend and has been part of the show since day one.
One person posted: "Angel Batista pls dont go to NYC i want you to live a happy life in Miami [sic]" with a sad face emoji.
A second commented: "The Miami crew being back was so good, man I'm gonna cry, they're putting a big a** death flag on Batista. Please don't [sic]."
As a third Redditor responded: "I think Dexter is gonna be forced to kill Batista or Batista will get killed by one of the serial killers by being in the wrong place at the wrong time and then Quinn and Masuka is gonna hear about it then they're gonna go down to New York and find out what happened and attempt to finish what he started."
Someone else speculated Angel wouldn't be killed by Dexter but another surprising character: "Seems like it's setting up for Harrison to do it ngl [sic]."
Another fan suggested: "My guess is Batista is going to find Harrison first, Dexter finds out and that's when he realizes he needs to step in [sic]."
Previously speaking to Horror Geek Life, actor Zayas said it was "great" to return to the series and teased what was ahead.
He said: "It was wonderful to dig back into this character, particularly with all the information and the revelation that he has about Dexter Morgan and how that is going to affect him moving forward."

Zayas praised Hall for being a leader on the series with the new actors blending right into the show.
Along with the returning cast members, Dexter: Resurrection features some impressive A-listers, including Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage and Hollywood legend Uma Thurman.
Episode three comes after Dexter: Resurrection's premiere received some strong ratings with more than 3 million people globally watching the show on Paramount during its opening weekend.
The viewing figures are up from the previous series Dexter: Original Sin, which premiered back in December 2024 and attracted 2.1million viewers in its first three days, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In a statement to the outlet, TV executive Chris McCarthy said: "Dexter: Resurrection delivered an electrifying performance that not only rekindled a fiercely devoted fanbase but also captivated a new generation of viewers - shattering records with Showtime's most-streamed premiere ever.
"This triumph underscores the lasting impact of this iconic franchise, brought to life by Michael C. Hall's unparalleled portrayal and [showrunner] Clyde Phillips' visionary creative leadership."
