As a showbiz reporter, I spend copious amounts of time tuning into several television series and advising TV bingewatchers, like myself, the unmissable shows they must watch. As autumn is approaching there is nothing like getting cosy in front of the small-screen and enjoying the best shows available across a mutlitude of streaming platforms. I have put together the top three shows which you can certainly binge over a couple of days, or even hours.
There are a host of great shows to enjoy this month. Whether you're looking for gritty crime, to gory scenes, true crime or grabbing a box of tissues, we have got you covered. Some of my highlights which did not make my top three but should be on your list to binge include Dr Death which is available to watch on Paramount+. It delves into true stories of doctors whose medical malpractises had devastating consequences for patients. But if you want something slightly more lighthearted then season two of Netflix's Wednesday will get you into the Halloween spirit.
Here are my top three series to watch this September.
3. Under the Bridge
This true crime drama will certainly pull at your heartstrings but will leave you totally engrossed. The heartbreaking eight-part series starring Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough, is an adaptation of Rebecca Godfrey's 2005 book on a sensational murder in Canada of a 14-year-old Reena Virk, who was horrifically beaten by strangers and her so-called friends. The synopsis reads: "Under the Bridge explores the circumstances of Reena's disappearance and murder at a party, and the events leading up to it, told through the perspectives of Godfrey and a local police officer. The series examines themes of bullying, adolescence, racism, and the complex social dynamics that contributed to the crime, revealing hidden aspects of the teenage girls accused of the murder." The drama is currently available to watch on ITVX.

2. The Offer
The Godfather is considered to be one of the greatest movies of all time and I would not argue with that assessment. As someone who is an avid watcher of all things mob boss related this dramatised true story is about the making of the most epic gangster movie ever made. The 10-part series unveils Al Ruddy's experience of making the 1972 film The Godfather with Francis Ford Coppola. From mafia threats, to casting Al Pacino, Frank Sinatra denouncing the project or the mob wanting a cut, the never before seen story takes you through the all the stumbling blocks it took to make the film. The synopisis reads: "The Offer is a 2022 Paramount+ miniseries that tells the story of the chaotic and tumultuous production of the iconic 1972 film The Godfather, focusing on producer Al Ruddy (Miles Teller) as he navigates the challenges of bringing Mario Puzo's novel to the screen, including resistance from the mob, internal studio conflicts, and the demanding personalities involved in making the film." I immediately got sucked in with The Offer. Plus, being a lover of all things The Godfather I could not resist tuning in.
1. Dexter: Resurrection
If you have not tuned into Dexter before I would recommended you start from the very beginning with the first season having first aired in 2006. The Dexter franchise has been going strong for nearly two decades now, and the latest revival which aired this year did not disappoint. Dexter Resurrection ends its first season with a satisfying yet thrilling ending, I'm eager a second season will be in the works. Dexter is back to his usual routines of targeting criminals who may have slipped through the cracks of the justice system. The synopsis reads: "Dexter Morgan awakens from a coma and sets out for New York City, determined to find Harrison and make things right. But when Miami Metro's Angel Batista arrives with questions, Dexter realises his past is catching up to him fast." Dexter: Resurrection is available to stream on Paramount +.
