Manchester United's midfielder, Manuel Ugarte, has officially confirmed his relationship with British influencer Georgia May Heath. The 24 year old footballer put an end to months of speculation by sharing a cosy holiday photo of the pair on social media.
The image showed them in swimwear, smiling and gazing into each other's eyes on a boat.
Ugarte tagged Georgia's Instagram handle in the caption and added a love heart emoji for good measure. The Uruguayan player and the fashion and beauty influencer, who boasts nearly 230,000 Instagram followers, have been spending quality time together in Spain.
Georgia, aged 27, is said to be the former girlfriend of Ugarte's ex-PSG teammate, Kylian Mbappe. The French superstar moved to Real Madrid last summer on a free transfer, having spent the 2023/24 season alongside Ugarte in Paris.
Back in 2021, Georgia and Mbappe were spotted dining together in Greece, and as recently as January 2024, she was reportedly vacationing with the striker. However, rumours started swirling in April that she had parted ways with Mbappe and begun dating Ugarte.
Fans began connecting the dots when they noticed similarities between the backgrounds in Georgia's photos and those in Ugarte's home pictures.
Despite the romantic reshuffle, there seems to be no animosity between Mbappe and the new couple, as he 'liked' the post along with several of Ugarte's United teammates. United supporters will be hoping that this newfound romance will help Ugarte bounce back from a challenging first season at Old Trafford, following the club's worst-ever Premier League performance.
Ugarte, who was acquired from PSG for a sum of around £43million, showed potential to become a crucial part of Ruben Amorim's midfield. However, his absence from the Europa League final against Tottenham in May raised eyebrows.
The move has been largely criticised, especially after Scott McTominay left United for half that price, only to clinch the Serie A title with Napoli and be crowned the league's Player of the Season.
Most of United's squad reported back to Carrington for pre-season training on Monday, including their sole summer signing so far, Matheus Cunha.
Amorim is keen to make further signings early in United's pre-season, but the club needs to generate funds through player sales first. This includes potential departures of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho.
United's struggle to secure suitable transfers for all four players has put their pursuit of Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo on hold.
