Marcus Rashford offered second chance as Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim confirms return plan

Amorim exiled the 27-year-old shortly after his November arrival, citing attitude and application in training as the reason. Rashford didn't feature in 12 consecutive matches before Aston Villa offered an escape route late in the January transfer window, loaning him until the end of the season. He has enjoyed a resurgence in Unai Emery's superior side and if Villa trigger their £40million buy option.

However, Emery has confirmed that no calls have been made on whether Rashford will stay put at Villa Park beyond the summer.

There will be interest from elsewhere, with AC Milan, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund among the clubs linked in the winter.

And Amorim has revealed that Rashford will join Antony and United's other loanees in returning to Old Trafford this summer to resolve their futures.

"All the players that are on loan, they will return and then the club will decide what to do at the end of the season," Amorim explained on Friday.

"The talent of Rashford, even Antony [at Real Betis], they have talent. They have to put that on the team.

"We are really happy because if you put one player on loan, the best thing for us is for them to perform and they are performing."

Amorim has proven that players can win him over if they start showing signs that they can meet his demands, which opens the door for Rashford.

Take Casemiro as an example. The 33-year-old midfielder couldn't buy minutes at the start of Amorim's reign but has recently become an important fixture.

The United boss has an idea of who he wants to keep and sell this summer but has laid down a challenge for any player to prove they can enjoy the same renaissance as Casemiro.

He said: "I have an idea that is clear because we have to do things early [in the window], but things can change before the end of the season.

"Casemiro was a player who wasn't playing, and then, you see, the last games, he's having a part and is performing quite well and playing all the time.

"I like to change my mind and if they change my mind, I'm really happy with that. I just want to win and put the best players in my team."
