Martin Lewis says get breakdown cover for just £57 a year if under age limit

The -backed financial advice company has shared how drivers can get for two motorists at a very competitive price.

Whilst various factors involved in running a car, such as and , may be on the rise, the company highlighted that many drivers can still save considerable amounts of money on breakdown cover.

In a recent blog post, Money Saving Expert has highlighted that motorists can currently get a breakdown cover policy with AutoAid for just £57 per year.

They explained: "AutoAid's been one of our top picks for over a decade. It covers you and your partner in any car you or they drive.

"Newbies via this link pay £57.28 per year (£20 more if the car's over 15 years old). Call-out time and service feedback is decent."

According to Money Saving Expert, the AutoAid policy will cover two drivers on all of the vehicles, offering roadside recovery, home start and onwards travel for 12 months.

However, in order to qualify for the policy, the vehicles used by the couple must be less than 15 years old, else they will need to pay an extra £20 charge.

Money Saving Expert also highlighted that drivers should shop around for other deals, stating that Eversure also offers a similar policy for less than £60 per year.

When buying next roadside recovery, Money Saving Expert warned all motorists to never automatically renew their current policy, stating that they could save a bundle.

Whilst drivers looking to save can shop around for the best possible deal via a comparison service website, the organisation highlighted that the easiest way is calling a breakdown cover company and haggling over the price.

According to a survey conducted by Money Saving Expert, a staggering 85 percent of RAC cusstomers successfully haggled the price of their next policy down, whilst 84 percent of AA customers paid less for cover than they were initially quoted.

One customer claimed by Money Saving Expert highlighted that the RAC agreed to match the same price that was quoted by another brand.

They wrote: "I rang [the] RAC to cancel, and after some haggling they agreed to match AutoAid's price at the same level of cover!

"An incredible saving of just over £300 for a phone call... thank you so much!"
