Prince William and Princess Kate are working on a genius tactic at their upcoming new home to ensure the family have as much privacy as possible. The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, will be relocating to Forest Lodge in Windsor by the end of the year with their three children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.
At the moment, the family are still based at their nearby home Adelaide Cottage, where they have lived since 2022. This is because work is currently underway both inside and outside the property. Among the work currently being done at the eight-bed mansion is part of the couple's genius tactic to ensure their children have as much privacy as possible.
This includes planting trees and shrubs around the property to shield it from public view, as well as a new fence that will stop bypassers being able to see in.
These are believed to be attempts to safeguard their home and allow the royals to enjoy time as a family away from the public eye, which is one of the reasons why they moved away from Kensington Palace to Windsor three years ago.
As reported by The Mirror, gardeners and decorators have been spotted at the home in recent days, with the renovation work being funded by William and Kate themselves.
It is believed the family of five will then move in once renovation work is all complete, which is believed to be before the end of the year.
It has been widely reported that the family see the property as their "forever home", with William reportedly keen to stay living at the Georgian mansion even when he becomes King.

While the family seemed happy enough at the nearby Adelaide Cottage, it is believed the humble four-bed home was becoming too small for them.
Although Forest Lodge is much bigger, William and Kate are reportedly still set to have no live-in staff, with key members of staff instead set to occupy smaller nearby properties
An exact move-in date has not yet been confirmed.
