The quiet seaside village with 6-mile coastal walk to pretty neighbour

It's easy to overlook the UK as we head into the Summer holiday season, but one stunning coastal walk is well worth saving a weekend for this year. Linking two sleepy villages on England's which are just three miles apart, the circular walk takes you past fossil beaches and quaint hamlets.

Starting at the charming village of Seatown in , the leisurely walk heads to a bustling fishing harbour with dramatic cliffs, West Bay, before swooping back inland to return home. It passes through the picturesque villages of and Eype, where you can explore the fossil-rich beaches,and the fishing village of West Bay at the furthest point makes a perfect pitstop after three miles, where you can enjoy some local seafood to refuel.

The walk also passes the iconic Golden Cap, the highest point on the of England, offering panoramic views of the countryside and coastline.

The 6.6-mile walk, which is graded easy to moderate, takes around three hours 25 minutes to complete, with plenty of opportunities for rest breaks.

If you're planning on staying overnight, Seatown, which is technically a hamlet, has a quieter feel for those seeking a peaceful retreat.

West Bay in Dorset is ideal for familys, with shingle beaches where children can go fossil hunting, and there's also fishing trips and even scuba diving.

There are some undulating hills on the walk, reaching 515ft at the highest point.

The closest train station is Axminster or Dorchester, which are both a 20-minute drive away from West Bay.
