During this morning's instalment of GB News, Freddy Grey, Deputy and US editor of The Spectator, addressed the "infighting" within the Labour Party after Prime Minister Keir Starmer suspended four rebel MPs.
Starmer stripped Brian Leishman, Chris Hinchliff, Rachael Maskell and Neil Duncan-Jordan of the Labour Party whip after "persistent breaches of party discipline". The action comes ahead of autumn votes, as Chancellor Rachel Reeves may have to make news cuts or raise taxes further in the Budget.
When asked for his opinion on the suspensions, Freddy told GB News viewers: "I think it's glorious. Labour spent most of last year saying that on difficult issues on welfare, they were going to have a conversation. Every time they say conversation, it means they are stabbing each other in the back, fighting like crazy.
"At least now, it's a bit more out in the open on how much they hate each other, and I think that is a good thing.
"What's also amusing is that I think a lot of people in government just want a holiday. They've had a terrible year. They just want the summer break and to come back in September and have this reshuffle and possibly get rid of some of the front bench.
"They are just staggering to get there, and every day there is a new story about infighting and hatred and so on."
Taking to the comments section, one X user said: "If they spent half as much time working for the people as they do squabbling, we'd be better off. Proper grown-ups, that's all I ask."
A second added: "Working against each other for their own end. None of the politicians we have had in power in the last 20 years have ever worked a single day for us. They have always been working against us."
Meanwhile, a third penned: "Watch more go to Reform..."
