Three-ingredient cleaning spray that 'captures dust' and leaves your home smelling fresh

Even if you keep your looking impeccable at all times, a dusty layer can make everything look much more messy and uncared for.

And it can sometimes feel like dust appears out of thin air right after you've , making it an endless and tiresome cycle.

However, one cleaning expert on social media has come to the rescue with a very handy piece of advice.

Lifestyle influencer says you can make your own cleaning spray at home with just three ingredients, and it works to 'trap' dust and keep it away from your surfaces.

The cleaning pro, who has amassed an impressive 1.3 million followers to date, is known for her easy home hacks that are simple to implement in your own house.

From travel to mould removal, she covers it all - and in a recent video, she lifted the lid on some of the best ways to keep dust away from your surfaces.

To start, you'll need three ingredients - water, white vinegar and lemon oil, which you can buy for £3 from or £2.99 from the .

Then, grab a spray bottle and pour in one cup of the water, one quarter cup of white vinegar and a couple of drops of the lemon oil, before shaking well to combine.

Chantel says this will create a DIY dusting spray that helps 'capture' dust, and after trying it out on her bedside table, the cleaning cloth was covered in dirt and debris it had picked up.

However, it's not just surfaces that you can use this spray on.

Chantel also recommended using this on your windows and windowsills to, buffing it in with a mop to show just how versatile the spray really is.

Not only is it effective at cleaning, but the fresh lemon scent from the oil will also leave your entire home smelling delicious.

And if you have a problem with dust in those hard-to-clean areas, such as inside lampshades, Chantel suggests using a lint roller instead of a cloth to really get in there and pick up all the debris.

Similarly, laying a sheet of newspaper on top of your high cabinets can also reduce the need for dusting on top of them - all you need to do is carefully remove and replace the sheets every few days, and dispose of the dusty ones.
