A guru has shared her simple solution for making sure her are sparkling clean while also warding off any unwanted . Chantel Mila is making sure cleaning your home is practical while promising enviable results.

In a TikTok video from March, Chantel shared her 'two-in-one mix' for keeping windows streak-free made up of some household staples. She used highly touted along with standard washing up liquid, and if you want to create an effective combination to repel , you can add one more ingredient. For this you'll need some peppermint oil.

In a bucket, pour in four cups of water, adding in two cups of white vinegar and a quarter cup of washing up liquid. If you just want to keep your windows clean, you should mix the solution as is.

However, if you want to make it a spider repellent just add in a few drops of peppermint oil. This is optional.

Chantel assured that this homemade remedy will help cut through tough grease and dirt on your windows, and leave them streak-free.

Apply the mix to your windows with a sponge or cloth, or whatever you usually use to clean. Then wipe away.

Chantel warned that anyone who has pets should avoid using peppermint oil.

Chantel's video has been viewed over a massive 330,300 times, receiving 5,936 likes and 55 comments. Nicko asked how to combat cleaning the inside of windows, with Chantel explaining: "Plain white vinegar or rubbing alcohol."

However, Chantel explained adding peppermint oil is optional. Peppermint oil is often used as a common deterrent for various insects.

explained that spiders aren't fans of strong scents, including citrus, peppermint, tea-tree, lavender, rose or cinnamon. One theory behind this is because spiders smell and taste with their legs, so they will avoid surfaces with strong odours.
