Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games is giving away free in-game currency as part of its latest update.
GTA Online fans can claim $1 million of in-game currency just by logging into the game from now until September 17. You can bag an extra million for a grand total of $2 million by subscribing to GTA+.
The offer is open to brand new and returning players, so it's worth logging in and redeeming your currency, even if you're taking a break from GTA Online, or are planning on playing the GTA 5 spinoff.
According to Rockstar Games, the money will be transferred into your GTA Online account within 72 hours of logging in.
Rockstar explains more: "Now through September 17, anyone who plays GTA Online will receive a special GTA$ cash infusion.
"Everyone gets a one-time GTA$1,000,000 boost, while GTA+ Members will receive an additional GTA$1,000,000 (including anyone who subscribes and plays between August 21 and September 17). Bonuses will hit your account within 72 hours of logging in."
While it's a pretty sweet deal given the cost of everything in GTA Online, Rockstar may be prepping for a rumoured future update.
Recent reports have suggested GTA Online will introduce mansions as part of the next major content update.
It's unclear how much mansions will cost, but $1 million or even $2 million is unlikely to cover the costs.
If you aren't bothered about buying a mansion, then you can simply use the money for other items and activities in GTA Online.
The mansions update could end up being the final major update before GTA 6 launches next year.
GTA 6 was given a May 26, 2026 release date alongside a new trailer (above).
The trailer showcases the two main characters of Jason and Lucia. The duo are said to be in the middle of a criminal conspiracy in the state of Leonida.
"Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them," reads a Rockstar Games blog post.
"But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida - forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."
