Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, AVSM, VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force, attended the prestigious IN-VEST 2025 – International Conference on Vibration Engineering, Science, and Technology at IIT Delhi as the Guest of Honour. The conference brought together global experts, scholars, and leaders to discuss the latest innovations in vibration technology and its diverse applications.
In a compelling keynote address, Air Marshal Garg emphasized the increasing importance of advanced diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and engineering innovation in ensuring the operational readiness and reliability of complex defence systems. Drawing attention to the current dynamic global geopolitical landscape, he underscored the urgent need to bolster India’s strategic preparedness through modernisation, self-reliance, and technological advancement.
Air Marshal Garg emphasized that in today’s fast-changing world, the Indian Air Force must stay future-ready by building a strong foundation of indigenous technological capabilities. He called for enhanced collaboration among academia, research bodies, and industry to align innovation with national defence needs—vital for driving the Make in India initiative and achieving sustainable indigenisation in defence technology.
The event witnessed the presence of several senior officers from Base Repair Depots (BRDs) across the Delhi region, reflecting the importance the IAF places on strengthening academia-industry-defence linkages. Their participation further highlighted the commitment of the Maintenance Command towards integrating state-of-the-art scientific knowledge into practical applications across the Indian Air Force’s maintenance and logistics landscape.
Organised by IIT Delhi, INVEST 2025 brought together leading voices in vibration science and mechanical engineering, showcasing innovations in condition monitoring, structural health analysis, and smart sensing technologies—key domains that intersect with modern aerospace and defence applications.
The conference also featured technical sessions, panel discussions, and exhibitions focused on emerging technologies in mechanical systems, AI-integrated maintenance, and sustainability practices in engineering—areas crucial to defence logistics and fleet sustainability.
Air Marshal Garg’s address resonated with the central theme of the conference—Innovation for a Resilient Future—and left a strong call to action for the scientific and defence community to jointly build a self-reliant, technologically empowered India.
IN-VEST 2025 concluded on a high note, reaffirming the shared resolve of stakeholders from across sectors to collaborate for a secure and advanced future in both civil and defence domains.
