Ahmedabad: The city on Saturday witnessed a fresh spell of rain after days of dry weather with many areas receiving light to moderate showers. Thundershowers with more rain has been predicted by the India Meteorology Department (IMD) in the city towards evening on Saturday.People shared visuals of fresh showers on social media platform X with many welcoming the rain bringing some comfort from the October heat. The minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is expected to touch 35 degrees Celsius.
However, the rain will most likely recede from Saturday night or Sunday morning with IMD production clear sky and sunny weather throughout the week. The weatherman has predicted light to moderate rain, thundershowers at a few places in all the districts of South Gujarat region like Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra- Kutch namely Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir Somnath and in Diu.📍Ahmedabad

Amid the festive season, rain is not likely to play spoilsport as people are expected to thring markets for Diwali shopping.Meanwhile, yellow alert has been issued for several areas in Gujarat with a warning of heavy rain very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dangs, Valsad, Daman, Dadar Nagar Haveli, in the districts of Saurashtra namely Amreli, Bhavnagar.
