After a long wait, Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency will finally make it to the theatres. Originally scheduled to release on September 6, the political drama got postponed due to delayed certification. Now, the makers are all set to announce the new date.

Kangana Ranaut's Emergency gets certified by CBFC In an official statement, Kangana announced that Emergency has been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Sharing a story on Instagram, she wrote, “We have received the certificate for our movie Emergency, we will be announcing the release date soon, thank you for your patience and support.”

ALSO READ: Emergency makers agree to CBFC edits and modificationsEarlier this month, the makers of Emergency, who sought the Bombay High Court’s assistance in the matter, told a division bench of Justices Burgess Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla that the issue has been worked out. They also informed that the cuts and edits suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification were accepted. Senior Advocate Sharan Jagtiani for Zee Studios reportedly said the matter between the production house, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and Kangana’s Manikarnika Films Productions has been solved. The advocate further informed the Bombay High Court that the makers would need at least two weeks to comply with the changes suggested by the revising committee of the CBFC. Post that, the censor board would clear the film and issue a certificate. About Emergency Emergency is a biographical political thriller about the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who imposed a 21-month emergency period from 1975 to 1977. In addition to Kangana, the film also features Anupam Kher, the late Satish Kaushik, Shreyas Talpade, and Mahima Chaudhry.
