Helly Shah was hoping to attend Cannes 2025, but the actress will have to give the prestigious film festival a miss this year. Helly, who made her Cannes debut in 2022, tells us, “I was supposed to go this year. A big brand had approached me and we were working out the details. But my debut Gujarati film is releasing around the same time and hence, I had to opt out.”
She adds, “I am feeling a little bad, but I couldn’t do anything about it. I remember three years ago when I visited Cannes, I got a lot of love and was hoping to go there again.”
The actress, who began her journey in television, is now focusing on OTT and films. Reflecting on the shift, she notes the contrast in work patterns. "Films are very different from television. You work for a few weeks or months and then you’re free to look for your next project.”
So, how does she handle the downtime? She replies, “It took me a while to adjust to it, but now I’ve embraced it. I try to learn new skills during my free time. Sure, there are hard days, but I stay positive and wait for the right roles to come my way.
