'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning' X review: Netizens claim the film is a 'mixed bag' with its edgy stunts and maximalist mess

Tom Cruise asked the audience to trust one last time, and they did. ‘Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning’ has hit the screens, and the reviews have started pouring in all over social media. While some claim the film keeps you frantically at the edge of your seat, others are disappointed with the film being ‘maximalist mess.’

The final reckoning offers a tribute to the film franchise, and a pure cinematic experience at its best. However, what do the netizens think?

One user found its new respect for ‘The Dead Reckoning,’ and said, “While not as bad as TROS, FINAL RECKONING is undoubtedly cut from the same cloth. Plagued by insecurity, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 8 plays like an egregious franchise greatest hits. Scenes have no beginning or end, it's scatterbrained nonsense - a constant flow of exposition & flashbacks…” they continued.



A second user liked the film, but they hoped to love it, and stated, “MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – THE FINAL RECKONING is a maximalist mess; our boys have too many ideas for a movie again, making a somber series tribute with a janky FAIL SAFE-like nuclear arms plot. Oddly light on action. The big set-pieces are extraordinary. I liked it! Hoped to love it.”

Calling it a mixed bag, a third user expressed, “#MissionImpossible The Final Reckoning is a mixed bag. Exhilarating set pieces, stunt work, and epic scope, but it’s also plodding, overwritten, and unnecessarily convoluted. Also nothing about this felt final. Not bad. But far from the best in this usually reliable series.”

However, a few others found the film exhilarating, and astonishing. Another user mentioned, “#MissionImpossible The Final Reckoning feels like a straight shot of adrenaline from start to finish. The pacing is cut throat and it feels like you’re running alongside Ethan the entire time. The score keeps you on the edge of your seat and the visuals are astonishing as always.”

A fifth user pointed out that if you’re in for Cruise almost dying, the film certainly delivers, and said, “#MissionImpossible - The Final Reckoning is surprisingly dialogue-driven and has more dazzling stunts including a standout mid-film banger. The convoluted espionage plot feels a bit long at nearly three hours. However, if you’re there to watch Tom Cruise almost die, it delivers.”

No matter what, Tom Cruise still got it, and another user said, “#MissionImpossibleTheFinalReckoning stands out as one of the strongest entries in the franchise. Tom Cruise proves he STILL got it, and it was great to see the supporting cast reunited. The film runs long, but every moment is packed with either intense action or suspense.”
