The curtains have closed on the much-anticipated The White Lotus Season 3, and as expected, the internet is ablaze with reactions. The HBO dark comedy-drama, created by Mike White, aired its finale today, bringing to a close a tension-filled, slow-burning season set against the lush and moody backdrop of Thailand.

Since the season began on 11 July, fans have been dissecting every frame, clue, and interaction. While some lauded the series for its nuanced storytelling and atmospheric pace, others felt it dragged — a sentiment that carried over into reactions to the finale.

Taking to Twitter (now X), fans were quick to share their opinions — and memes — summing up a finale that has clearly divided the fandom.







Those who loved the finale didn't hold back on praise. One user wrote, “Many will disagree. But this was the best season finale so far in The White Lotus universe.” Another echoed the sentiment, saying, “It’s the best season and that episode was a work of art. You just don’t get it and that’s okay.”

A third hailed it as “phenomenal,” posting, “#TheWhiteLotus ends on a TERRIFIC NOTE. The slow burn added to the tension while the Thailand setting was gorgeous and set the mood. Phenomenal score, GREAT finale, and AMAZING performances with Coon/Posey/Goggins being on top. Goggins and Coon get your #Emmy speeches ready!”



Another user celebrated the episode’s craftsmanship, tweeting, “That White Lotus finale, whether you liked the outcome or not, was undeniably chef’s kiss. Carrie Coon’s monologue? The Tanya/Belinda parallel? The writing in general??”





However, not everyone was on board with how the season wrapped. Some viewers called the finale underwhelming and the season overall lacklustre. One critic tweeted, “Yeah the White Lotus Season Finale STINKS! Very unsatisfying end to a very boring season. The finale was a microcosm of the season: way too long, very boring, with virtually nothing happening for most of it.”



Another disappointed viewer added, “The White Lotus finale hit like a tsunami of missed potential. Beautiful to watch, but left me stranded.”

Yet another chimed in, “Hands down the worst season of White Lotus and the finale proved that a lot of the storylines were left open-ended.”


Despite the split in opinion, one thing is clear: The White Lotus remains a cultural talking point, capable of sparking passionate debate, wild theories, and plenty of internet buzz.
