Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) mentor Dinesh Karthik hinted that the franchise is not happy with the surfaces provided at the Chinnaswamy Stadium this season.

After LSG's defeat to Punjab Kings, Zaheer had suggested the curator might have been from Punjab, while Fleming said CSK had not been able to read the pitch correctly for the last two seasons, and his side had lost its home advantage.
Following RCB's consecutive home losses, Karthik admitted that his side had received a "challenging" pitch, despite requesting a batting-friendly surface.
"In the first two games, we asked for good pitches. But it has turned out that way, where it has been challenging to bat on. So, we are trying to do the best with whatever we get. But we will obviously have a chat with the curator. We trust him to do his job," said Karthik in the post-match press conference.
"So, definitely, this is not a pitch that is helping the batters much. It's a challenging pitch. That has been the case so far in both the games we have played," he added.
Karthik said the Bengaluru surface has deprived RCB of its home advantage at a venue where matches have traditionally been high-scoring.
"I think the way T20 cricket is, the more runs there are, the better it is for the broadcaster and the fans. They all like to see boundaries. And we will try and do the best we can," he said.
"I think with every pitch, we'll try to understand the best way to play. I don't think we have one set template for how we want to play. It's important to adapt and understand the pitch.
"But it has been hard to rotate the strike at times. And hitting big shots has been really hard as well. But in the end, it's T20. You have to play some shots, and that has led to the wickets of a few batters," he detailed.
