South Africa name 15-member squad for WTC Final against Australia

South Africa’s head coach Shukri Conrad has announced the 15-player squad for the ICC World Test Championship Final against Australia, scheduled from 11 to 15 June at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Temba Bavuma will lead the team, with fast bowlers Kagiso Rabada , Dane Paterson and Lungi Ngidi forming the core of the pace attack. Ngidi returns to the Test squad for the first time since October 2024.

The bowling department is further supported by all-rounders Marco Jansen, Wiaan Mulder and Corbin Bosch. Spin options include Keshav Maharaj and Senuran Muthusamy.


The batting line-up features Aiden Markram, Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs and David Bedingham. Kyle Verreynne, who has been a key performer in South Africa’s WTC campaign, has been named as the wicketkeeper.


Shukri Conrad said the squad reflects the consistency and progress made over the past 18 months, and that they have selected a balanced team for the expected conditions at Lord’s. He also welcomed the return of Lungi Ngidi, acknowledging his experience and recent performances.

The squad will assemble in Arundel on 31 May and will play a warm-up match against Zimbabwe from 3 to 6 June before heading to London on 7 June.
