NEW DELHI: UP CM Yogi Adityanath became a collateral beneficiary of a verbal clash between SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and home minister Amit Shah . Akhilesh had questioned Shah about Yogi's future in UP, prompting Shah to retort, "Woh bhi repeat honge" (he will also be repeated), reports Akhilesh Singh.
This exchange followed Akhilesh's criticism of Shah's statement about BJP's future dominance, claiming the party would stay in office for another three terms. The banter continued with Akhilesh attacking BJP over amendments to the waqf law, while Shah was quick to counter the SP chief over the dig. "For family-run parties, it is very easy to pick their presidents. But BJP, with its over 12 crore party workers, undertakes an extensive exercise to elect its leader," Shah said.
The home minister slammed dynastic politics, telling Akhilesh, "Let me tell, you will remain the party president for the next 25 years."
