'Still hanging...': Epstein's eerie final words revealed by close friend; Trump aide calls author a 'lying fraud'

Pedophile Jeffrey Epstein reportedly sent an eerie final message just hours before he was found dead in his New York jail cell, according to author Michael Wolff .

Speaking on The Daily Beast podcast, Wolff revealed Epstein’s final words.

The message came through a lawyer on a Friday evening in August 2019, just hours before Epstein was found dead the next morning at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre. When asked how he was, he reportedly said, ‘Still hanging around.’

Wolff had known Epstein for years and believes this could have been the last message Epstein ever sent. “I believe that I got the last message from him before he died,” Wolff said. “His message to me hours before this happened was, and it was just in response to me asking how he was, and he said, ‘Still hanging around.’”

The disgraced financier, convicted of sex trafficking and linked to powerful figures, had asked Wolff in 2014 if he would write a book about him. Wolff said no.

A 2023 report by the US Department of Justice said Epstein died by suicide , but the way he died has led to many conspiracy theories . Many people still believe he was killed to protect powerful people accused by his victims.

Wolff said Epstein’s death remains difficult to explain. “He could not, as described, have killed himself. As the circumstances presented, he could not have been murdered,” he said. Asked for his theory, Wolff said, “I don’t know.”

The recent statement from the Justice Department that Epstein left no list of clients and had not been murdered has angered supporters of US President Donald Trump, who had once promised to release the so-called “Epstein files.”

Trump’s communications director Steven Cheung dismissed Wolff’s claims in harsh terms. “Michael Wolff is a lying sack of s*** and has been proven to be a fraud,” he was quoted as saying to The Daily Beast. “He routinely fabricates stories originating from his sick and warped imagination… rotted his peanut-sized brain.”

In an earlier interview for New York Magazine in 2002, Trump had said, “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with... he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
