Liam Payne quit rehab after just two days.
The late singer who died aged 31 after falling from the balcony of his third floor hotel room in Argentina, is said to have checked into The Priory in July to start a 28 day programme. However, after just 48 hours, the chart-topper is believed to have walked out. Reports claim that Liam had devastated his close friends and family when he gave up a chance of "overcoming his addictions."
Liam had been open about his struggles in the past and recently confided in TV star Paddy McGuinness about his sobriety. But fresh reports claim that despite wanting to get his life back on track, he struggled. It's claimed that the Teardrops singer had signed up for the £5,000 a night The Priory in London and had started a detox programme.
However, sources claim that Liam rarely left his room and did not attend the classes with others who were undergoing treatment. Liam is believed to have used prescription medication – given by medical professionals to aid his withdrawal from alcohol and substances.
"Family and management did everything they could, Liam was loved, adored and incredibly talented," a source told . They added that he "couldn't beat his demons" despite everyone "rooting for him." "He confronted his issues head-on, hoping to get back on track," they added.
